Published on 14th January 2025Last week, we played host to the inaugural WEBEX Players Series, at Royal Fremantle Golf Club. What a great week it was for the Club.
Those who joined us to either volunteer or spectate during the week would no doubt have marvelled at the condition of the course and the various activations we had around the Club – RFGC looked fantastic!
I would like to take this opportunity to extend personal thanks to all who contributed to the tournament. The volunteer spirit at RFGC was in abundance with over 100 volunteers covering 320 volunteer shifts across the week. In the coming months you will recognise those volunteers, in their blue/purple volunteer polos – please take the opportunity to thank them for their assistance – they were integral to the successful event we delivered.
Our staff too did an outstanding job, with many working every day in the lead up to the event – this is quite a feat when you consider that Christmas was only 12 days prior to the event commencing. Our staff, across all departments should be congratulated on their efforts, our team worked together to deliver a great experience for players, spectators, and corporate hospitality alike.
Members over the weeks ahead will continue to enjoy the outstanding course preparation delivered by Jason and the Course team. Again, they are to be commended for their efforts, I am so proud of the effort they put in and the outstanding results achieved.
It was fantastic to have our juniors and elite amateurs participate in the event and of course, to have Minjee and Min Woo around the Club; providing mentoring sessions to players, attending presentations, and playing in the Pro-Am. The ‘Lee Effect’ was in full force with many spectators coming down to meet them, and both were so gracious to sign autographs, take photos with fans and even partake in putting comps with juniors.
To say I am proud to be the General Manager of RFGC is an understatement and I hope all of our members equally feel a sense of pride in the tournament we delivered – it was a great team effort and a testament to the culture of RFGC!
I sincerely thank everyone who assisted, participated and spectated over the last 10 days.
